How counseling sessions work
In sessions I use CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) to pursue avenues of the client’s thoughts and behaviors, past childhood to adult experiences, and how they relate to the clients present life. I then work with the client to help them identify their thought patterns, and how to change the way they think and react to become more positive and healthy.
I also utilize EMDR therapy, (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) to help clients work through past significant or traumatic memories, feelings, or thoughts. Bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements) are used to help the client reprocess the memory in a more adaptive or healthy way so that the memory no longer has a triggering grip on the clients life.

First I will meet with you for an initial assessment to discuss things like your personal history, background, issues, goals, and confidentiality. I will work with you to establish personalized goals. In the following sessions, therapy will be utilized to make steps towards those goals. Your progress will be discussed along the journey of counseling to help with guidance, confidence, and support.

I believe together we can and work towards lighting your world with HOPE!
